Year Round Gardening I have an MA and Ph.D. in Food Systems Anthropology and Permaculture Diplomas in Site Design and Education. My life work has been in understanding how people interact with their food systems and how to change these systems for the better. Since 2018, I have been Board Secretary for the Permaculture Institute of North America.
About this speaker
I did field research and published about food systems of the West African Sahel and in the islands between Mindanao and Borneo. For 21 years, I was a full time paid community organizer in Southeast Texas/Houston, and founding ED of Urban Harvest http://UrbanHarvest.org as well as OHBA-Organic Educators (http://ohbaonline.org ). I was also Treasurer for the 10th Continental Bioregional Congress. I am the Author of a best selling comprehensive 511 page manual on how to grow food plants in Southeast Texas using organics, ecology, and permaculture. I have used the book to promote all sorts of food programs started and influenced by Urban Harvest and OHBA-Organic Educators.
